Hello Farm Friends,
It will be a quiet few weeks on the farm as I begin to get the fields ready for next season. Sonora finished up with a rainy week last week, perfect for making lots of beautiful garlic bundles, a skill that that she has mastered. Hopefully I will get the hang of it before they sell out!
Thanks again to all three of my staff this year, Sonora, Niamh, and Charlie. What a great crew, I couldn’t have done it without you.
Thankfully it’s looking like I will have beautiful weather for my solo harvests this week at least.
Garlic and Cover Crop Planting continues, as well bringing in of our storage crops, like Potatoes, Winter Radishes, and eventually Carrots.
Our late planting of Brassicas is looking beautiful, so I will be bringing more tender Kale and Collards to Cobourg this week. Although I think our last seedlings went in too late, fingers crossed we will have some Cabbages and Broccolini as well as Radicchio and Rapini before the Snow flies. A few more days of sunshine like this could make all the difference.
