A Winter Update and Official Opening of 2019 CSA Registration

Veggie Greens - A Winter Update and Official Opening of 2019 CSA Registration

Little Farmer Planting SeedsAs we plow through February and the days begin to get just a little bit longer and the sun a little more powerful, my desire to hibernate becomes a little less overwhelming. That’s how I know it will be time for Spring planting in no time.

Winter is the time for planning on the farm and we have some exciting new plans for 2019. As we roll into our sixth season here in lovely Hastings County, we are finally going to install an irrigation system! But not just any system, thanks to a grant from the generous folks over at Carrot Cache we hope to install a system that will be programable and can be controlled remotely. I expect the time I will save hauling watering cans and dragging hoses, not to mention having water available as soon as we need it, where we need it, will make both farmer and farm more efficient, productive and most important of all happy! We will keep you posted as the project progresses.

In the meantime, there are seeds to be ordered, a greenhouse to prepare for Spring and CSA members to recruit! We’ve decided to go back up to the full 20 week season this year and hope you are as eager as we are tor the 2019 growing season to begin. If there’s anything you’re just dreaming of having in your share, or something you wish you could have more of or more often, let me know so I can work it into the garden plan.

Registration is now open. You can sign up here today.  Help spread the word and forward this along to anyone you think might be interested!

I know there’s snow/ice/slush on the ground today, but remember, the sooner you sign-up the easier it is for me to focus on planning.

Welcome to the 2019 season, I am looking forward to getting back into the garden.

Sincerely,
Jenny
