First CSA Pick-up of the Season

big tub of garlic scapes - First CSA Pick-up of the Season

Hello CSA Members!

Our first on-farm pick-up of the season is upon us.

Here are some things you need to know:

Farm Pick-up time is Tuesday June 15, anytime between 3pm and 7pm at 251 Anderson Island Rd. [google maps link] If you can’t make it, please arrange an alternative time with me.

Once again we will continue with the market style pick-up but with a few modifications. Greens and other loose items will be bagged or bunched or divided into pint containers to make everything a little quicker and provide an extra layer of comfort. As always, I recommend washing everything before eating it, although nothing is sprayed, it did come straight from the field and although we use water to cool everything nothing is pre-washed.

When you arrive, if someone else is already here collecting their veggies, please let them finish so everyone can have plenty of space.

Don’t forget to bring a bag or cooler or basket to carry your vegetables home in.

I will be near the table to explain everything to any new members, so don’t worry if you are unsure!

This week in our more unusual vegetable category, we will have garlic scapes and salad turnips, if you haven’t tried them before don’t hesitate to ask for tips on how to enjoy them.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow,

Sincerely,
— Jenny
