Hello Farm Friends,
Thank-you CSA members for making the first pick-up a success! It was nice to finally see you all here at the farm.
I hope you all enjoyed experimenting with garlic scapes, because we can’t e’scape ’em just yet, and there will be more coming your way this week.
Toronto, we’ve got you covered this week too, our garlic scapes and a few other green things can be found on the Dufferin Grove Farmers’ Market web store, orders have to be in by Tuesday at noon for delivery on Thursday.
If you are closer to the farm, this Friday is the very first Farmers’ Market in the Village at the covered bridge in Stirling, so you can also catch us there.
Busy week!
In other exciting news, the peas are enjoying the slightly cooler nights and good rainfall we had on Friday, so they will most certainly be making an appearance in this week CSA shares. We have snap, snow and shelling peas this year. The kids have already tested each variety and given them all a big thumbs up (hopefully there will be some left on the vines after they finish testing again tomorrow morning).
In the field this week, if we can find some time between harvests, we are scrambling to get the remaining summer crops planted out so they can make use of these long Summer Solstice days.
Sincerely,
— Jenny
