A rainy moment for announcements

Hello Knuckle Down Farm friends,

Sonora and I have been busy busy the past couple of weeks moving compost and getting early crops into the ground.

Lettuce, peas, radishes, turnips, beets, carrots to name a few! The weather has been so warm this past week I even snuck in an early planting of beans before the storm.

We have also been busy getting our tomatoes ready for the seedling sale hosted by the Homegrown Hamper this Thursday. It looks like it will be a beautiful afternoon to visit Church-Key and do a little seedling swapping and shopping. Ernest will also be selling some miniature sunflower plants that the boys helped me grow as a fundraiser for Ukraine.

I will bring along some vegetables for eating too, so there should be something there for everyone.

If you can’t make it but want some tomato plants for your garden, never fear, we will sell the rest off the farm. Just send me a message and we can set up a convenient time for you to pick them up.

I also wanted to let everyone know that thanks to the generosity of one of our CSA members, we would like to offer two subsidized shares this season. I know things have been difficult for many people the past few years and everyone deserves healthy food.

I would really appreciate your help getting the word out if you know a family who would love (and be able to use) a CSA share, but just can’t manage the full cost this year. Please tell them to get in touch.

Sincerely,

— Jenny
