Radishes and Rain

Hello Farm Friends,

Since you last heard from me we’ve had two CSA pick-ups, three markets, a family re-union, and lots of rain. Somewhere in between all of that we seeded Fall Spinach and other Greens, pulled some weeds and prepared lots of garlic orders.

We just arrived back at the farm so apologies if this email is a bit short or my harvest list is not entirely accurate!

The rain, I hope, will have encouraged our baby Salad Mix to grow, so I am looking forward to harvesting some greens again this week. Our antique looking Horus radishes (pictured) have started to size up too, so keep an eye out for those beauties.

I would also like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Niamh, who will be heading off at the end of this week for an adventure in Scotland! We will miss her, thanks for all your hard work Niamh, remember “I’ve worked on Organic Farm” is always a good ice breaker.

As predicted, our tomatoes aren’t delighted by all this cool rainy weather, but we definitely have some for this week and we will see how they pull through.

Our Fall Radishes, Beets, and Carrots need to be thinned but are looking good so lots to come.

This week we are looking get a whole bunch of late seedlings planted too, so hopefully things dry up a little bit.

Because our Fall Crops are looking good, I am thinking of opening up a few CSA spots for folks who would like to join us for September and October. If you are interested send me an email and I will make sure you are on our list!
