Winter in the Morning, Summer in the Afternoon

Under cover greens - Winter in the Morning, Summer in the Afternoon

Hello Farm Friends,

There was a good heavy frost this morning, and although it is beautiful in the garden right now, I feel like I am gently falling toward a Wintry nap. There are still lots of things I would like to do on the farm, but I find I undertake tasks with a little less focus at this time of year. My mind is already drifting to what I might do differently next Season, what worked well and what I should prioritize now to make it easier in the Spring.  Sometimes though, the cat seems pretty comfortable on my lap.

Before I get too comfortable, there are a few weeks of harvests yet and still some garlic left to plant so I will keep stumbling through it. The warm weather forecast for this week should keep me on track.

Our baby greens were safely tucked under cover, so they are looking lovely for this week’s shares and our last outdoor market of the Season at Dufferin Grove! I will also bring lots of garlic to Toronto, so stock up now before we take a hiatus! We still have lots of other lovely veggies too and would love to send some home with you.

Sincerely,
— Jenny
