Hello Farm Friends,
What a beautiful end of September we have enjoyed! Over the past few days I have been catching up on some garden clean-up, clearing tall weeds from around our remaining crops so they can make the most of this sunshine.
Our late Carrots are still a little small to harvest (grow carrots grow) but the Beets we planted at the same time are gorgeous.
New for this week we have some Purple Daikon and Watermelon Radishes and maybe a few Kohlrabi for our Market Customers. I think our lettuce mix is finally ready to cut this week and we will definitely have more beautiful Spinach coming your way too.
Our Sweet Peppers and Eggplants are still producing like mad, in fact if anyone is interested in a bulk quantity of either, now is the time to email me about it!
Despite all of the harvesting that still needs to be done, over the next few weeks I will begin to shift my focus to next Season’s garden. I’m still hoping to seed a few more beds into cold hardy cover crops and of course I will be planting out Garlic.
WIth the beautiful weather we are having, I want to get as much of a head start as possible so the Garden will be in good shape for the Spring. I know it is much less enjoyable when my fingers are freezing in November!
Sincerely,
— Jenny
