Hello Farm Friends,
We just arrived home from a lovely visit to my sister’s beautiful place in Huntsville where we had perfect weather for a Thanksgiving visit.
Lots to be thankful for besides the weather including a lovely hike with all the kids, time to catch up with family on the dock and of course good food.
I hope you all enjoyed some days off too.
Before we left we had our final Market in the Village in Stirling, lots of people turned out to help us wrap up the season which was great fun. I will update my online farm store for any of my Stirling Market customers, or anyone else, who still want some Fall veggies even though the Market is finished.
Garlic, of course, is still available for planting or enjoying all Winter! I have extended the Sale into October in celebration of these warm days. I hope to be planting mine soon.
CSA members will be happy to hear that my friend Heather from Loonsong Farm had a bumper crop of Butternut squash and offered some for our Shares this week. Seeing as our squash crop was a bit of a bust this season I was more than thankful to accept them. I think you will be delighted too when you see them, they are huge!
It looks like the first of the cauliflower are big enough to harvest for tomorrow as well, thanks to the rain last week. Not enough for everyone this week, but over the next three weeks we should have more coming.
If time allows and they have sized up a bit, I’m hoping to dig some different coloured potatoes this week too. Baby carrots will wait one more week, but they are coming!
Sincerely,
βJenny
