Groundhogs Rejoice our 2026 CSA registration is open!

imbolc - Groundhogs Rejoice our 2026 CSA registration is open!

Hello Farm Friends,

It has been awhile since you’ve heard from me but despite the frigid temperatures outside I can hear the sound of ice melting as the sun shines this afternoon, a reminder that Spring will return before we know it.

Yesterday was the date that falls between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox, known as Imbolc by those who celebrate their Celtic roots. Although most of us have lost touch with these ancient rituals, I wonder if lighting a bonfire and chanting for an end to Winter wouldn’t do us all a little good these days. At the very least I will light my woodstove and celebrate the conflicting weather reports of groundhogs.

In the cold days of January, I have been busy up-dating all of my crop planning spreadsheets, building a lego garden map, applying for Canada Summer Jobs for my staff, tracking down a new planting tool to hopefully help increase efficiency in the field, placing seed orders and even taking a mini-vacation to visit some family and friends in Toronto!

After the exhaustion of last Season, Lauren from Small Spade Farm and I were both feeling like maybe collaboration is the antidote to burnout so we are working out the details of a multi-farm Spring CSA basket, I’m excited to share more about that soon.

In the meantime, registration for my main Season CSA is open

I’m looking forward to growing for you again. The seeds are on their way.

Sincerely,

Jenny
